Antifoams & Defoamers
Overview
Unwanted foaming can be problematic in many commercial, manufacturing and industrial process applications, consequently it requires careful control measures to minimise or eliminate its impact.
Antifoams and defoamers do exactly what the name suggests – i.e they reduce or eliminate foam. If left, the foam is not only unsightly but also leads to lower process efficiencies. Foam can be generated in many systems including, boilers, cooling towers and effluent treatment plants. It often arises from the use of surface active chemicals in the water system which stabilize bubbles within the water leading to the formation of foam. The antifoam agents displace these surface active chemicals which leads to the bubbles breaking and hence the reduction of the foam.Antifoam agents are typically either silicone or hydrocarbon based. We can supply products based on either. The optimum product choice will be determined by the application.

Defoamers
Klover’s advanced antifoams, defoamers are scientifically formulated to control unwanted foam for use in a wide range of process applications including wastewater and effluent treatment, steam generation, cooling water systems, distillation and fermentation processes, food processing, sugar manufacturing, paper and paperboard production, plastics, adhesives and more.
Reverse Osmosis (RO) membrane treatment process is used to separate the purified water from the contaminated water thus improving the quality of the water. RO membrane is cellophane like membrane which acts like a filter to remove micro-organisms which are too large to pass from the pores of this membrane.
Reverse osmosis systems are favourable environments for microorganisms to thrive. Klover Chem’s products are non-oxidizing biocides that are highly effective in reducing bacterial growth and the build-up of slime on a variety of membrane types.
